The cattle at Yoke S Ranch are bred for sport.

We feel the most important attribute of a roping or steer wrestling cow is a nice set of horns. We have selected cows and bred heifers based on this fact for several generations now. We want the horns to have a nice shape and sufficient mass so that they are not easily broken.

We expect our steers to have 6-7" of horn on each side by the time they are 12 months old. We also like a nice large base on the horn at this time so you can take them right to the pen.

Athleticism and disposition are also important. Everyone wants cattle that will run down the pen and be able to stand up and hop while you make a nice handle and clean run. The disposition is important for their longevity. If they're not fighting the chute and trying to jump out of the pen, they just last longer and develop fewer bad habits.

If you're interested in breeding stock, we will have a few heifers and bulls for sale. Both registered and high percentage cattle.

Ask about our lease program. We sell most of the steers, but we lease the most of the yearling heifers every year. We also keep some of the 2- and 3-year olds that are still working good. We also keep a few lead steers or heifers on hand for people to train horses with.
